A
distributed document management and data aggregation platform,
supporting Collaboration-defined workflows and document-types. The
Sintero project provides a prototype of a commodity infrastructure that
supports the document workflow and information aggregation requirements
defined in a Collaboration-centred Architecture. The prototype, created
by Swansea University in a Wellcome Trust funded project, uses an open
source implementation of IHE XDS for document sharing. The document
types, workflow rules, and aggregation rules can be defined in the
Collaboration Specification, and potentially deployed at scale across
the network (which may be centrally hosted or distributed). The
interoperability nodes themselves make minimal assumptions about the
information standards used, so that the best use can be made of whatever
infromation is available. |
