Ramsey Systems has been active over the last ten years in the development of HL7 standards, dealing with the technical details of the specifications, the practicalities of their implementation, and the challenges of establishing an effective governance structure for the organisation. 

As chair of the HL7 Technical Steering Committee for three years Charlie McCay helped to establish a culture of transparency and communication - where the projects, products and workgroups of HL7 could be seen by current stakeholders and those looking to the organisation for solutions.  This was part of a wider reorganisation that Charlie helped to deliver as a member of the board.
