Charlie McCay With over 20 years experience in Healthcare IT, Charlie has spent the last 10 years contributing to many high level interoperability success stories and providing technical leadership to a number of national and international projects. Charlie consulted on standards compliance for the Logical Record Architecture, appropriate XML representations for clinical information and configuration management for CFH. He was Technical Lead for the HCIF supplier form, responsible for interoperability specifications for the English Retinal Screening Program and message maintenance for the Electronic Prescribing national pilots. He has been chair of the HL7 Technical Steering Committee and sat on the board of HL7 International. Charlie is highly respected and influential in the field of healthcare interoperability. He is also actively engaged with the ISO and CEN health informatics committees. Prior to his high profile contribution to national and international interoperability projects and development, Charlie spent ten years developing and supporting applications for GP’s and hospital department systems ensuring that they delivered real clinical benefit and safely shared data with other systems. As a result he also brings with him an excellent understanding of the strategic and pragmatic aspects of healthcare interoperability. |
